It’s not about surviving with type 1 diabetes, it’s about thriving!

On 24 September 2022, at the age of 19, I was rushed into hospital and diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. My life was turned upside down. Over the next 12 months I worked hard (very hard) and was selected to represent the Australian Judo Team, while maintaining a distinction grade average at university studying a Bachelor of Design – Visual Communication (graphic design, photography & filmmaking). I could not have done all that if I hadn’t built a great support network around me.
