Client: UNAA (NSW Division)

Focus: UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Project: UN SDG Game and Website Development

Role: Designer and Developer (Group Project)

Usage: UN Day School Mufti Day event

For our group project with the United Nations (UN) Day School Program, we aimed to improve the website’s design and make the UN Day School Mufti Day event engaging for student stakeholders. In the early stages, I ensured efficient time management by preparing the brief and leading brainstorming sessions. This set a productive tone for our team discussions.

One of my key contributions was proposing an innovative strategy: a Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)-focused video game incorporated into the website. This idea aimed to engage our target audience of K-12 students by offering an educational and entertaining experience. I supported this concept with sketches, a game precedent, and a proposed design art style, which helped secure team buy-in and client approval.

I played a pivotal role in the website design, focusing on creating a seamless user experience and maintaining visual consistency. My responsibilities included developing wireframes, designing assets, and ensuring smooth navigation between the game and other website sections. Collaborating closely with Uyen, who led the illustration efforts, I ensured that our designs were cohesive and aligned with the overall project vision.

My efforts extended to the game’s development, where I worked on concept sketches and collaborated with Uyen on final illustrations. Additionally, I designed the merchandise page, integrating it with the game to provide an incentive for students to engage with the SDGs. I also tackled the design for the Avatar Customization Page, ensuring it was interactive and appealing to our young audience.

Throughout the project, I facilitated collaboration by organizing meetings, seeking feedback, and maintaining clear communication within the team. My contributions were crucial in driving the project’s success, from the initial brainstorming sessions to the final deliverables, ensuring that both the game and the website were engaging, educational, and visually appealing.
